NJ Civil Service Chair/CEO, Deputy CEO, & Executive Director Honored with Community College Spirit Awards
On June 16, during its annual New Jersey Community College Awards Ceremony, the New Jersey Council of County Colleges presented the 2014 Community College Spirit Award to New Jersey Civil Service Commission Chair/CEO Robert Czech, Deputy CEO Grace Kelly and Executive Director of Administration and Training Kimberly Rogers-Mclean for their exemplary support of New Jersey’s community colleges.
“Since its inauguration in 1993, the Community College Spirit Award has been an honor bestowed to those who embody the community college spirit – perseverance, dedication and excellence,” said NJCCC Chairman Bakari G. Lee, Esq.
Zech, Kelly and Rogers-Mclean were recognized for their leadership in partnering the New Jersey Civil Service Commission with the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development to provide training and career development programs for state and local employees.
The Workforce Consortium, established in 2004, is a central one-stop contact that develops and delivers education and training programs to New Jersey businesses, agencies and organizations. Since its inception, the Workforce Consortium has trained over 90,000 employees at over 4,500 New Jersey businesses.
Since the beginning of the fiscal year in July, approximately 1,800 government employees were enrolled in training classes delivered at community college campuses throughout the state or on site at agency premises.
